DJ Grace Pisula · Electric Forest 2026
The first ecstatic dance at Electric Forest
This summer, Chicago DJs brought ecstatic dance to one of the biggest music festivals in the country. Grace closed it out on Sunday. Just came from Yoga Electronica? This is the set she built your class from.
What is ecstatic dance, and why did it come to the Forest?
Ecstatic dance is a facilitated movement journey: a space to drop into your body, move what you're feeling, and experience the music, yourself and the people around you with more presence. Raves were already ritual spaces. Ecstatic dance built on that, with an opening and closing circle and facilitated embodiment.
For the first time, ecstatic dance came to Electric Forest at 4 PM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Grace closed it out on Sunday at 4. Each of those three slots was Ecstatic Dance, and together they featured three Chicago DJs.
“It's a space to drop into your body, move what you're feeling, connect with the music.”
“People are craving something much deeper, something that helps them experience the moment and not just consume it.”
“What makes ecstatic dance different than any other set list is that it's carefully curated for your nervous system.”
Festivals are fun, and the music, art, lights and community are real. Ecstatic dance offered something deeper in the middle of it: a way to feel alive, connected, sober and embodied.

DJ Grace Pisula, DJ Roman Boro and Tamila Viola were the featured DJs of Ecstatic Dance at Electric Forest. It was a big moment for a growing culture of wellness through movement, sober events and connecting with yourself and others.

“Getting to play at Electric Forest was one of those surreal, full-circle moments of 2026 and maybe my life.”
The recording is the raw live video and audio from the Forest, “imperfect, alive, and in the moment,” in Grace's words. It opens with Jahnavi Harrison's devotional “Into The Forest,” moves through Amtrac, Yolanda Be Cool and a Bob Marley remix, and lands in Son Lux and Emory Hall.
