First-timer guide
Your first Yoga Electronica
Everything we'd tell a friend before their first Sunday, in one place.
1
It's one evening that slowly opens up
Yoga to electronic music. Then we open the floor and dance.
Doors open at 5:30 PM. The Yoga Electronica class runs 6–7, then the floor opens for the live-DJ dance from 7 to 8:30, followed by a closing circle and social time until 9:30.
2
You don't need yoga or dance experience
The class is guided and every pose has an easier option. There are no steps to learn on the dance floor and no way you're supposed to look.
Resting, stretching and lying down all count. Move at whatever pace feels right.
3
Coming only for the dance is fine
If yoga isn't your thing, arrive for the DJ at 7:00. Your ticket covers the whole evening either way.
4
It's a sober room
Sober floor — no alcohol, no substances. Water and juice provided.
People come for a clear-headed night out and leave feeling it the next morning — in the good way.
5
Shoes off on the mats, optional on the floor
Shoes are optional: shoes off on the yoga mats, but you're welcome to dance in shoes on the floor, and we'll offer adaptations if you'd rather not touch the floor at all.
6
Wear something you can move and stretch in
Leggings, joggers, shorts, a T-shirt — anything comfortable. Bring a layer for the closing circle; rooms cool down after the dance.
7
Bring water and, if you have one, a mat
A water bottle is the one essential. Bring your own yoga mat if you have one; let us know at the door if you don't.
8
Arrive at 5:30 to settle in
Doors give you thirty minutes to check in, sign the short agreement if you haven't yet, find a spot and breathe before class starts at 6.
9
A few floor agreements keep it free
Minimal conversation while dancing; step off the floor to talk.
Consent before any partnered movement, every time.
Phones off the floor. Photos only when everyone has said yes.
Move however your body wants. Resting, stretching, and lying down all count.
