October 11 · Our host at Q Studios
Adam Nelson, known as Sombionx, is a Chicago electronic music producer and audio designer, and the founder of Q Studios. He opened Q Studios in the early 1990s as a music, film production and recording loft, and it is still the room at 2328 N Milwaukee Ave where Yoga Electronica gathers every other Sunday.
He became a key figure in Chicago's underground electronic scene, mentoring and collaborating with local and international artists such as Eric Ross. His ongoing production work as Sombionx Sound Systems (SSS) centers on underground tech-house and techno, and Q Studios produced and co-directed Colette's music video “Give Something.”
In his words: “I have now a backlog of 50 plus tracks that never got released, some as old as 1996, some new this week. The tracks span several genres.”
